Battle of the Books
The Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. Students in 3rd-12th grade, regardless of ability, are exposed to quality literature representing a variety of literary styles and viewpoints.
The books for the 2024-2025 school year are available in the library if students are interested in starting their reading. Contact Kiki Klifel if you are intereseted.

Book Club
Chess Club
The Chess Club's purpose is to give students the opportunity to have fun playing chess while improving skills. Club members of all grades and abilities are welcome. The students get to play opponents with a variety of skill levels. More experienced players often help less experienced players improve.

Drama Club
The PHS Drama club offers a place for students to take part in all things theater. They aim to create a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone to join in. Drama Club is open to everyone, and it's a great way to express yourself, and make new friends.
This year's Goal: Philomath Drama Club is putting on their first student-led production in Spring of 2025. Their plan is to bring the play Puffs to life on stage. This is the first year for the Philomath Drama Club and with this big undertaking they need help from the community. Please consider donating, any contributions to the program are greatly appreciated. They help pay for costumes, sets, and lighting, all of which are vital to a successful, high quality performance.

First Robotics 847 PHRED
The Philomath High School Robotics Engineering Division (PHRED) is a team of middle and high school students that meets every Tuesday night to discuss and plan during the off-season. During the build season, we meet every week night and Saturday to design, build, and prepare for the competition season. We work with other teams to make it fun and exciting for every member of FIRST.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
Future Natural Resource Leaders
Future Natural Resource Leaders is a state-approved leadership organization funded by the Department of Education similar to FFA, FBLA, DECA, etc. FNRL is a Career Technical Student Organization.
Participants must be enrolled in a forestry and natural resource class during at least one trimester of the year. For more information, contact advisor Simon Babcock or visit the Oregon FNRL website.

Performing Arts
The Performing Arts program encourages students to develop and value artistic creations as a means to communicate ideas, thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Through their study of music and drama, students learn to plan, develop and present artistic productions or performances that reflect their course curriculum.
