Expanded Options (College Credit)

There are a few ways to get college credit while still in high school.

Beyond PHS

Philomath High School has joined with Linn Benton Community College to expand options to students allowing them to take college classes while enrolled in high school. This program is available to juniors and seniors. Contact your counselor for more information.

Students who plan to apply can get the application in Canvas by visiting the PHS Information class or they can pick up an application in the counseling office.

College Now

The College Now Program is a free program that offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credit while attending high school. The classes are taught at Philomath High School, during the school day, by LBCC approved high school teachers. To receive College Now credit, students sign up  through their PHS teacher. Courses that are eligible are designated in the course catalog.

AP Classes

The Advanced Placement Program® (AP) enables academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. The program consists of college-level courses developed by the AP Program that Philomath High School has chosen to offer, with corresponding exams administered once a year, typically in May. Students must request that the College Board send their official score report to the college of their choice. The institution determines the credit to be awarded.
