Announcements

12/18/2019

·        Have you checked out the ‘Gratitude Tree’ by the cafeteria?  Today suggests that you write a ‘thank you’ note to someone important in your life.  Who is that important person in your life?

·        The Holiday Food Drive is now complete!  Thanks to each of you for all the wonderful donations.  A total of 1,490 items were donated, with 507 pounds of these items being donated to the Philomath Food Bank.  The remaining food will support students within our own schools through our Food Pantry.

Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classrooms were all within about 25 items of each other, ranging from 306 items to 353 items.  Our 5th grade classrooms ran away with the competition, bringing in 499 items.  Thanks for participating in such a great drive!

·        Sincere congratulation and thanks to our students for such wonderful Winter Concerts, held these past two evenings.  We appreciate how hard each of you worked in preparation and the joy you shared with families and friends.  We appreciate you!  Also, thanks to Mr. Meeker for his leadership in preparing our students for these great events.

We have one concert remaining.  This allows our students in three special opportunities to share their talents.

o   December 19th (Thursday) @ PES Gym

§  Band, Choir, and Recorders @ 6:30pm

·        The Falcon Singers will be touring today, December 18th.  They will leave PES at 11:00am to visit Stoneybrook Lodge in Corvallis.  From there, the group will travel to Heritage Mall in Albany.  Students should be back at school no later than 2:30pm.

·        If you were absent on Monday and have a birthday either this week or during our winter break, please come to the office at the conclusion of the announcements to get your birthday ribbon and book.

·        Keep the spirit going this week!  Today is Holiday Sweater Day.  In honor of ‘Fancy Schmancy’ Day for our 2nd graders, Thursday is ‘Dress to Impress’ Day.  Consider wearing something that is a little fancier than what you normally wear to school.  Friday is the day to wear your favorite pajamas.

·        There will be no LEGO Robotics this Friday afternoon.  The group will be taking a break over the winter holidays.  Activities will resume on Friday, January 10th.
