Welcome to Kings Valley Charter School, and thank you for your interest in learning more about us.  In 2001, our small, rural school was at risk of closure.  The community rallied together to keep the doors open.  And not just to keep it open, but to create programs that have thrived for many years and that continue to grow and adapt to the needs of the communities we serve. You can read our school's Mission Definition HERE.

Our elementary school is one that focuses on student development of essential skills, social emotional learning and character.  Our positive recognition program has shown us that the power of looking at what is going well can make all the difference in student behavior and development of resiliency and compassion for their fellow classmates.

Our middle school program is dedicated to individualized education through projects based in inquiry and connection to the natural world.  Students are immersed in activities that help them develop their critical thinking skills and prepare them to be leaders in our communities.  Our dedication to providing service opportunities to students has created an excellent foundation for the development of character and becoming well-rounded citizens.

Our high school, created in 2009, boasts not only excellent opportunities to ensure college readiness, but also experiences to build leadership and explore attractive career options.  Our Culinary program has grown as our first Career Technical Education program with more opportunities planned in agriculture, natural resources, media, and early-childhood development.  Our overnight field trips to some of Oregon’s most amazing natural areas are often touted as our graduates’ most defining moments in their high school experience.  We strive to be a key contributor to each and every student’s growth in leadership, character, service and celebration of diversity within our school and communities.

Please look through our website and learn more about the fantastic programs and opportunities we offer.   If you feel you would like to see classrooms in action, please contact us for a tour.  Our staff and students welcome the opportunity to share their experiences.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our office.  Our school thrives from our many volunteers that support classrooms, and share their skills at project day, or help with our Parent Teacher Organization.
