Middle/High students give "High-5s" to Elementary students during the Great Kindness Challenge
Kings Valley Charter School provides a rural, community-based education tailored to the individual needs and interests of each child, emphasizing the involvement of parents and the community.
The goal of the Kings Valley Charter School is to achieve academic excellence for all students through an individualized program. The environment at Kings Valley Charter School is designed to promote self-motivation, responsibility, and a positive attitude.
Grades 9-11 are using the tool now, and middle schoolers will have access in the fall. The platform includes career interest surveys, videos of "A-day-in-the-life" and Q&A sessions with people who do the careers, careers sorted by "cluster" and education level/training type, information on employment and salary statistics, actual job postings from indeed.com for jobs and internships, career planning and college planning tools, and curriculum.
Congratulations to Mrs. Lodge and our KVCS students who were awarded a grant from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund on Feb. 7. This grant will allow 44 students in grades 3-5 and 15 chaperones to attend OMSI's Camp Gray, in Newport, to study ocean ecology for 3 days next month.
The Great Kindness Challenge was a success!
Thank you to everyone for participating, and let's keep the kindness flowing.
