Transportation Services

All students that have requested and are eligible for transportation service will be assigned one designated bus stop for morning pickup, and one designated bus stop for afternoon drop off.  This information is obtained from the student information system database with the district.  If changes are needed, please call the Registrar at your school.

Students will only be picked up at, and dropped off from their designated stop.  The designated stop for morning pickup may be different than the afternoon drop-off stop.  

Students must use their assigned bus stop to board and exit the school bus. School bus drivers are prohibited by the Oregon Department of Education from making unscheduled stops, so please do not ask them to make stops that are not part of the route.  

If a student needs to ride on a different bus or use a different bus stop, parents/guardians must provide a signed note.  This note must also be approved by the school office and presented to the bus driver in the afternoon.  The note is good for one day and is subject to space availability.  If additional days are needed, a note will need to be supplied for each day.

          1. Student brings note to school from parent/guardian.

2. School official takes note and issues the change form to student.

3. Student brings change form to bus driver.

Change request

Students living in two households or attending before/after school care at a location other than home may use Transportation services to a secondary address, provided the following conditions are both met:

1. The second location is within the child's school boundary
2. The request is for a regularly scheduled need (i.e. pick up from home every morning, drop off at sitter's house every afternoon or alternate parent households per custody agreement)

Accurate school bus routing depends on your child's school having the most up-to-date contact information for your family.

First Student cannot accept address changes until the school has updated the student information system with your new location.

Please contact your school's registrar with address changes as soon as possible.

Parents/guardians of children who qualify for special education transportation services should call Student Services at 541-929-2524 with questions.

Winter Safety 

On dark winter mornings, make sure you are visible to others. Place reflective markings on your clothing or carry a flashlight. Our first priority is the safety of our students.

Bus and Fire Lane Safety

The lane between the high school and middle school is a bus and fire lane. Please do not use this lane, help us keep all of our students safe.

The Philomath School District is committed to providing a safe environment for students on the school bus.  The rules listed below help ensure that the bus remains a safe place for students.  Students who fail to follow these rules and disrupt the safe operation of our buses may lose their privilege to ride the school bus and or face additional consequences at the school.  The safe transportation of our students is a responsibility that the Philomath School District takes very seriously.
