Garth Gerot
Principal
My name is Garth Gerot, and I am the proud father of three children: a 17-year-old daughter, a 16-year-old son, and a 7-year-old son. My wife, Emily, is also an educator and serves as an elementary school principal.
I have been fortunate to work in K–12 education for more than 20 years, beginning my career as a Title I educational assistant. While working in a middle school, I earned my master’s degree and later spent nine years teaching students in grades 6–12. I have served in school administration since 2013.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as a middle school principal at Willamette Leadership Academy, a high school assistant principal at Siuslaw, a high school principal at Siuslaw, and both a middle and high school principal in Pleasant Hill.
I am passionate about supporting students with diverse needs and am honored to serve as both a leader and member of the team at Philomath Academy.
